Combination of an installation gallery and tester pics from Jeff's 996 chassis Porsche 911.

His AST 5100 shocks were installed with optional: Hyperco springs (60mm x 6" x 550#/in front springs, 60mm x 6" x 700#/in rear springs & tenders at both ends), Vorshlag front camber plates, AST rear spherical top mounts, AST rear end links, AST front swaybar brackets, Mason front end links and GT3 swaybars.

vorshlag > This is the AST 5100 shock kit that went on Jeff's car, plus optional: Hyperco springs, Eibach tender springs, AST threaded front swaybar brackets and Mason Engineering adjustable end links.
vorshlag > First step of this AST 5100 installation was the removal of the factory BOSE rear deck speaker box. This box covered up the rear shock mounts.
vorshlag > We always check the ride height of any car before and after a shock install. This 2004 911 had a front height of 14.5" and a rear height of 14", with the stock suspension. We always measure from the center of the wheel to the fender lip to take out tire height from ride height.
vorshlag > Next we put the car on the lift and removed all 4 wheels.
vorshlag > Brian begins to remove the factory rear shocks.
vorshlag > Factory rear suspension is a multi-link with a coilover shock.
vorshlag > Factory rear suspension is a multi-link with a coilover shock.
vorshlag > Disconnect the rear swaybar end links first.
vorshlag > Here the shock is disconnected. We used a jack and block of wood to secure the suspension for installaiton of the shorter AST coilover shocks.
