STEP 5: The "T handle" Allen wrench should be placed in the hex drive on the top of the Bilstein strut shaft. Hold the T handle (counter-torque) while you tighten the top nut using the 1" wrench. This nut should be checked periodically. If you find it is loose, remove it and re-apply Loctite 242. If the car is on the ground (supported by the wheels), the top nut can be removed and reinstalled without compressing the spring.
